A Month of Revisions, Revelations and Moving Forward

Guiding Light Astrology

November 2026 begins with the energy of looking backward—but ends with our eyes firmly on the future.

A cloaked travel stands at a crossroads considering the best path forward.
Time to pause and consider the way forward.

The month opens with the Sun in Scorpio, Mercury retrograde in Scorpio and Venus retrograde in Libra. Several other planets remain retrograde as well, making the first half of November a time for reviewing, reconsidering and uncovering what may have been missed.

But the story changes dramatically in the middle of the month.

The New Moon in Scorpio gives us a final look at what Mercury has been uncovering during its retrograde through the sign. Mercury turns direct on November 13th, followed by Venus turning direct on November 14th. After weeks of reconsideration, conversations, relationships and decisions can finally begin moving forward again. Then comes one of the month's most exciting aspects: Mars conjunct Jupiter in Leo on November 16th, bringing enthusiasm, courage, creativity and the desire to take action.

By November 22, the Sun enters Sagittarius, changing the tone from Scorpio's introspection toward expansion, optimism and a desire to see what lies beyond the current circumstances.

And on November 24th, the Full Moon in Gemini brings information, conversations and choices to a culmination. The month closes with Mars entering Virgo, encouraging us to take the inspiration we've gathered and turn it into something practical.

November's message is simple:

Review first. Understand what has changed. Then move forward with greater clarity.

🔮 November 2026 Astrology: The Month at a Glance

November is essentially divided into two very different halves.

🌑 The First Half: Look Back

The month begins with:

  • Mercury retrograde in Scorpio

  • Venus retrograde in Libra

  • Saturn retrograde in Aries

  • Uranus retrograde in Gemini

  • Neptune retrograde in Aries

  • Chiron retrograde in Aries

This creates an atmosphere where the past continues to speak, especially to you individually with the multiple planets in the sign that rules the self, Aries. Old conversations may resurface. Relationship questions may need another look. Financial decisions may require revision. Information that seemed complete may turn out to be incomplete. And something we thought we had already been decided may not actually be finished.

🌟 The Second Half: Move Forward

Once Mercury and Venus turn direct, the energy gradually becomes more decisive. The following events helps us move forward.

Mars meets Jupiter in Leo on November 16th.

The Sun enters Sagittarius on November 22nd.

The Full Moon arrives in Gemini on November 24th.

Mars enters Virgo on November 25th. (where it will retrograde)

And Mercury

clears its retrograde shadow at the end of the month.

So November isn't really asking us to choose between the past and the future.

It is asking us to use what we learn from the past to make better choices about the future.

🦂 Scorpio Season: Going Beneath the Surface

The Sun remains in Scorpio until November 22nd. Scorpio is one of the most misunderstood signs of the zodiac. It isn't simply about intensity, secrecy or transformation. Scorpio is about the willingness to look beneath appearances.

Scorpio asks:

What is really happening here?

What is being avoided?

What is motivating this behavior?

What needs to die so something healthier can be born?

That makes November's opening weeks particularly powerful because Mercury is also retrograde in Scorpio. This is not the month for accepting the first explanation simply because it is convenient. There may be another layer to uncover. Another conversation that needs to go deeper. Another piece of information you may have rushed by looking at only the surface of the issue. Another emotional truth. And this is especially important because Mercury's retrograde cycle remains entirely in Scorpio before turning direct on November 13th.

🦂 The Mythology of Scorpio

Scorpio's mythology is most commonly connected with the story of Orion, the great hunter. According to one version of the Greek myth, Orion boasted that he could defeat every creature on Earth. Gaia—or in some versions Artemis—sent a scorpion to challenge him.

The scorpion ultimately defeated Orion, and both were placed among the stars.

There is beautiful symbolism in this story. Orion represents the confidence of believing that we can conquer everything through strength and determination. The Scorpion represents something smaller but potentially more powerful: what we underestimate.

That is very Scorpio. The things we dismiss, can eventually demand our attention. The emotions we suppress can eventually surface. The truth we avoid can eventually become impossible to ignore. The November astrology reflects these themes beautifully.

What have we underestimated?

What conversation have we avoided?

What truth have we been unwilling to examine?

What needs our attention before we can genuinely move forward?

☿ Mercury Retrograde: The Past Has More to Say

Mercury begins November's retrograde at approximately 16° Scorpio and turns direct on November 13 at 5° Scorpio. The Mercury retrograde does not mean that everything goes wrong. It is better understood as a period when our normal forward momentum is interrupted so that we can review, reconsider and reconnect information. And because this retrograde occurs in Scorpio, we may be particularly interested in what is beneath the surface.

This can be an excellent period for:

  • Research

  • Therapy and introspection

  • Revisiting difficult conversations

  • Reviewing contracts and financial arrangements

  • Investigating information

  • Returning to unfinished projects

  • Looking at relationship patterns

  • Asking better questions

Mercury also makes its inferior conjunction with the Sun on November 4th at approximately 12° Scorpio, marking the midpoint of this retrograde cycle. The Mercury Cazimi point where the planet is bathed by the rays of the Sun and then reborn. This can feel like a moment of mental clarity within the retrograde. Something may suddenly make sense.

💗 Venus Retrograde: Reconsidering What—and Who—We Value

Venus begins November retrograde in Libra. This is especially significant because Libra is one of Venus's home signs. Making the work here more intense, as the planet energy is strong here.

Venus retrograde asks us to revisit:

  • Relationships

  • Love

  • Money

  • Self-worth

  • Personal values

  • Agreements

  • What we desire

  • What we have settled for

Venus turns direct on November 13th/14th, depending on time zone, at approximately 22°51′ Libra. This is one of November's biggest turning points. A relationship question that has been confusing may begin to make sense. A financial decision may become clearer.

Something you thought you wanted may no longer feel right. Or something you previously dismissed may suddenly appear valuable.

Venus retrograde asks:

What do I truly value now?

Not what I valued five years ago.

Not what someone else thinks I should value.

Not what looks good from the outside.

What matters to me now?

🔥 Mars Conjunct Jupiter in Leo — November 16th

Three days after Mercury turns direct and only about a day after Venus does, Mars and Jupiter meet at approximately 25° Leo. This is one of the most uplifting aspects of November. Mars represents action. Jupiter represents expansion. Leo represents courage, creativity, leadership, confidence and heart. Put them together and we have an energy that says:

Now do something with what you've learned.

This can be excellent for:

  • Creative projects

  • Leadership

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Taking a calculated risk

  • Self-expression

  • Romance

  • Performance

  • Visibility

  • Pursuing something you genuinely enjoy

There can also be a tendency toward excess. Mars + Jupiter can say "Go!" before asking whether you have checked the details. So use the courage—but keep some perspective. Since this is still within the events of mid-term elections in the United States there could be some major events involving some of the final results.

🌑 The November 9th Scorpio New Moon

The New Moon occurs November 9 at approximately 16°53′ Scorpio.

As with our other monthly forecasts, we will explore this lunation in its own Guiding Light Astrology New Moon article, so we won't duplicate the complete interpretation here.

At a high level, however, this New Moon continues November's Scorpio theme:

deep transformation, emotional truth, regeneration and beginning again from a more honest place. With Mercury and Venus still retrograde, this New Moon is particularly suited to intentions that emerge from reflection, rather than rushing toward something simply because you want a fresh start. Read all the details here.

🏹 The Sun Enters Sagittarius — November 22nd

On November 22, the Sun leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius. The atmosphere begins to change.

Scorpio asks:

"What is really happening?"

Sagittarius asks:

"Where do I want to go from here?"

After weeks of introspection, this shift can feel like opening a window.

Sagittarius brings:

  • Optimism

  • Adventure

  • Learning

  • Travel

  • Faith

  • Philosophy

  • Exploration

  • Big-picture thinking

It doesn't mean every problem has disappeared. It means we are becoming more interested in possibility.

🌕 The November 24th Gemini Full Moon

The Full Moon occurs on November 24th at approximately 2°20′ Gemini. Again, this Full Moon will receive its own Guiding Light Astrology article, so we will keep the discussion here at a higher level.

Gemini brings the focus toward: information, communication, choices, conversations and new perspectives.

And with Uranus still retrograde in Gemini, this Full Moon may have an especially strong connection to unexpected information or a change in perspective. Something you learn may change what you thought you knew. A conversation may open a new door. A choice that once seemed complicated may suddenly become obvious. For more details read the full article here.

🛠️ Mars Enters Virgo — November 25th

The month ends with another important shift. Mars enters Virgo on November 25th, leaving Leo after spending much of the month there. But not for good, the planet will return next year as it begins its retrograde at 10° of Virgo and retreats back to 20° of Leo.

Mars in Leo says:

"Create."

Mars in Virgo says:

"Now make it work perfectly."

This is excellent energy for taking a big idea and breaking it into manageable steps. The end of November is therefore much more practical than the beginning.

We move from:

reflection → realization → action → implementation.

📅 November 2026: Daily Astrological Highlights

Below is the Guiding Light Astrology day-by-day calendar, focusing on the events most likely to carry meaningful collective or personal symbolism rather than listing every minor lunar aspect.

November 1st — A Powerful Opening

The month begins with the Moon in Leo, creating several contacts to Neptune, Pluto, Uranus and Saturn before reaching the Last Quarter Moon. The Sun also forms a quincunx to Saturn. This is a day for recognizing where confidence and responsibility need to coexist. Also the day to consider what changes are needed since the last new moon.

November 3rd — Adjustments

The Moon enters Virgo and immediately encounters challenging aspects to Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Avoid trying to control every detail. Flexibility will be more useful than perfection.

November 4th — The Mercury Retrograde Revelation - Cazimi

This is one of the month's most important days. The Sun and retrograde Mercury meet at approximately 12° Scorpio. Venus also forms a supportive sextile to Jupiter. Something may become clearer. Listen closely. This being the day following the elections in the United States could mean some good news for some of the nominees. And likely some shocking initial results. Keep in mind until the retrograde ends the results are going to change.

November 5th — Rebalancing

The Libra Moon continues emphasizing relationships, compromise and fairness. The Grand Air Trine is activated again from the previous month. Is there more to see here? This is a useful day for noticing whether your relationships are genuinely reciprocal.

November 7th — Responsibility Meets Information

Mercury retrograde forms a quincunx to Saturn. You may discover that something needs to be revised before it can be finalized. Saturn is an older leader and is being challenged by a younger one. Things may get intense.

November 9th — 🌑 Scorpio New Moon

A powerful new lunar cycle begins at approximately 16°53′ Scorpio. This is a day for setting intentions for transformation and emotional honesty. The article linked above contains a breakdown for every zodiac sign of what to expect. With Pluto, the ruler in a trine to Uranus, unexpected good news is possible.

November 10th — Venus and Mars Work Together

Venus retrograde in Libra forms a sextile to Mars in Leo. The lovers are making up! After the challenging Venus–Mars dynamics of October, this can feel like an opportunity to find a way to meet in the middle or at the very least cooperate with one another.

November 11th — Fated Blessings

Jupiter in Leo meets with the South Node in Leo, while opposing the North Node in Aquarius. This can be the removal of someone in the spotlight that the people no longer support. This can also be a leader who learns a lesson about his past behaviours and how to change direction so as not to get removed.

November 13th — ☿ Mercury Direct

Mercury stations direct at approximately 5° Scorpio. As it does so it stirs up the energy and the emotions, perhaps even fear. But don't get caught up in the swirl. Conversations, decisions and information begin moving forward again. Just don't rush this.

November 14th — 💗 Venus Direct

Venus stations direct at approximately 22°51′ Libra. Relationship and financial matters begin moving forward after weeks of reconsideration. With both of these personal planets changing directions the energy is multiplied. Not the best days to make any big decisions, just because the retrograds are over. Take some time to fully absorb the lessons that have been unfolding since the end of August. After a few days you will be ready to make the necessary changes.

November 14th - 16th — Forward Momentum Builds

With Mercury and Venus now direct, the atmosphere begins changing. Added to this is the planet Mars conjoined with the South Node in Leo and Jupiter. This can be one of the most exciting days of the month for courage, creativity, leadership and taking action. It can also be an important day of karmic clearing. The South Node in Leo bring the past to the present to be acted on and dealt with. Jupiter is a gentle planet, but Mars is fueled by Jupiter's expansiveness and that makes the energy on the wild side. Stay grounded so you don't make a major mistake.

November 17th - 18th— First Quarter Moon in Aquarius

The lunar cycle reaches a point of action and adjustment. What began around the Scorpio New Moon now needs to meet reality. There is a lot of tension as the Sun in Scorpio is not only squaring the Moon, but also the events happening back in Leo with Mars, Jupiter and the South Node. A leader is battling the results of the elections, or whatever topic is creating drama in your life. There are likely to be some fireworks. Don't get burned. Trust that fate has a plan for us all, and we need to let it unfold.

November 19th - 20th — Adjust the Plan

Mercury forms another quincunx to Saturn. More of the story is unfolding. Something may require one more adjustment before it is ready. The Sun is also quincunx to Chiron. Has someone in the political realm taken ill? Chiron is speaking in harmony with all the Leo planets from the sign of Aries. Is someone's healing or just overall health in the limelight? This energy is very positive for miraculous healing.

November 21st — Prepare for a Larger Horizon

The final day of Scorpio season encourages us to recognize what we have learned before the Sun moves into Sagittarius. You may be tested in order to show what the Scorpio retrogrades have taught you about your truth.

November 22nd — ☀️ Sun Enters Sagittarius

The atmosphere shifts from depth and investigation toward expansion, possibility and exploration. This is the season of fun and forward momentum.

November 24th — 🌕 Gemini Full Moon

The Full Moon at approximately 2°20′ Gemini brings communication, information and choices to a culmination. There may be an exciting conclusion as the Moon sits next to Uranus in the sign of Gemini and still retrograde. Both are also speaking in harmony with Pluto in Aquarius. Finally the work that has been happening behind the scenes begins to surface. The article link above includes the breakdown for every zodiac sign.

November 25th — ♂ Mars Enters Virgo

Action becomes more practical, more controlled. It's time to organize, repair, improve and put detailed plans into motion. Check those travel plans twice, before heading out for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Sun opposes Uranus in Gemini and that could make travel more difficult.

November 26th — Happy Thanksgiving!

A moment to be thankful for all this year has shown to us. I was blessed with a granddaughter, a 60th birthday, and all of you who continue to join me in this work. Thank you!

November 27th - 28th— Payback

Venus in her forward journey speaks again with Jupiter while opposing Chiron in Aries. Women or a particular woman are/is being rewarded for speaking out about past abuses.

November 29th — Uranus Trine Pluto

One of the longer-term generational aspects becomes exact: Uranus in Gemini trines Pluto in Aquarius. They are meeting again as Pluto now moves ahead, but Uranus is still retrograde. Uranus is sharing knowledge from the past that Pluto can use to help the 'people'. This is a powerful symbol of technological, intellectual and societal transformation.

Old systems can evolve into new ones.

November 30th — Integration and Stability

The Sun forms a supportive trine to Saturn, while Mercury reaches the end of its post-retrograde shadow. The month closes with a much clearer sense of structure and direction. Agreements have been made amongst foreign leaders.

🌟 November 2026: From Looking Back to Moving Forward

The journey of November is:

Review → Understand → Reconsider → Choose → Act.

The month doesn't ask us to rush into the future. It asks us to make sure that when we do move forward, we are taking the wisdom of the past with us—not the baggage. And perhaps that is the greatest gift November has to offer.

Sometimes moving forward begins by finally understanding what the past was trying to teach us.
