Venus the planet of love and beauty goes retrograde from July 23rd – September 3rd in the sign of Leo. The planet retrogrades in the same sign every 8 years. That means it was last retrograde in 2015. There could be common themes and people, or situations that recur as a result. No, that doesn’t mean they have to. Also, remember that you are older and wiser and can make different choices this time around. Every repeated event gives us an opportunity to grow, not to repeat lessons of the past. Of course, what you choose is up to you.
When a planet goes retrograde we have a chance to do some inner reflections on the topics represented by the planet. Venus rules over 2 different signs, Taurus and Libra. One works hard for their money, the other works hard to bring balance into their relationships. Both are activated during this time. Venus works differently, so by hard work I don't mean like Saturn. Venus uses it's feminine energy to get things done.
A couple of added layers to this year’s retrograde, and they are pretty major layers. First is the fact that at the time Venus turned retrograde it was part of what we astrologer’s call a YOD. Also known as, a finger of God. You have a mission that involves Venus, Pluto and Neptune. Love, power, spirituality. All will join forces on this mission.
Next, Venus is in positive aspect to the North and South Node. In a trine to the North Node, as both are in fire signs, and in a sextile to the South Node in Libra, the sign Venus rules. Make no mistake, what you are going through at this time is fated. Since Venus is attached to the South Node in her home sign of Libra, that is where we need to focus. What strengths do you have in relationships, and where are they toxic and you need to move away from them. By learning to be independent, your relationships will benefit.
