On September 14th, 2023 at 6:39 PM MST, we will have the New Moon in Virgo. Both the Sun and Moon will be meeting at 21 degrees of the sign. Each month the Sun and Moon join together in a new sign for a rebirth of the Moon. The Moon rules our emotions and our intuition, it shows us what we need to feel comforted in this lifetime. This time the reset happens in the sign of Virgo, which rules over our health. This is a grounded, earthy energy. What house do you have this Virgo energy in? Virgo is the ruler of the 6th house of the Zodiac. Virgo is a healer, a naturopathic one. It rules our health, our daily activities, our work, even our pets. It is a place where we find a natural inclination to be of service to others. Healers use alternative methods like Reiki, Hypnosis, Crystals and Sound therapy. The ruler of Virgo is Mercury. This is what gives those with strong Virgo energy so much attention to detail, and a bit OCD about having a lot of order and structure in their lives. During each new moon we have a chance at a new beginning. We get to create 10 new moon wishes, and we want to do them within about 8 hours of the event, after may work best. This is an earth sign, so it is helpful to work with this element when creating your intentions. Write your wishes out, and then plant them like seeds in the earth. Choose a plant that is still in the process of blooming. Make sure these are wishes that are good for both the ego and the soul.
Your wishes this month are focused on things that are a part of your daily routines. This is a great time to wish for a new job, a healthy diet and workout plan, a new pet might be on your wish list. You can wish to get better organized, and learn how to pay attention to all the details. You can wish for better health in general. The ruler of this New Moon is Mercury, as it is the ruling planet of the sign of Virgo. It is home in its sign, but it is in retrograde. That means there is something about the past you need to understand in order for this new beginning to happen. Something you need to review in careful detail. You may have missed something, or overlooked some information. Now you have a second chance to understand your Virgo lessons. In fact, Mercury is almost at a complete standstill so it is putting out a lot of energy as it gets ready to end its retrograde right at the time of this New Moon. Something might actually blow your mind and create a new way of living for you. Whatever you have been learning over the past several weeks of the Mercury retrograde, it is now time to put that information to good use. It's no coincidence that the Sun and Moon are meeting at the exact same degree that Mercury started its retrograde. The two events are connected.
The Sun and Moon are making a trine over to Uranus in Taurus, which is also now retrograde. This is helping you shift in unexpected ways, to make a surprising fresh start. Outer planets bring us a lot of time for introspection. But the time for withdrawing to do that sort of work, may quickly come to an end because of this contact to the planet Uranus. In fact, all 3 of the outer planets, Pluto, Neptune and Uranus are making positive contact to one another. There may be something at a mass consciousness level that is awakened. Something from the past is being activated, as all 3 are in retrograde.
Neptune in Pisces loosely opposes the Sun and Moon in Virgo. This is a battle for healthy boundaries. It is also the need to get back in contact with our beliefs, and our spiritual side. Virgo is so busy focused on the details, that they sometimes forget there is more to life than just work, and being busy. There is a need to just ‘be’ as well. Some balance can be restored as a result of this tension.
Jupiter, like Uranus, is also in the sign of Taurus, where it just began its retrograde that lasts through the end of the year. It is pretty wide of the planet Uranus, and the Sun and Moon, but it is a very large influential planet. It provides us a big growth opportunity. In Taurus, we are getting lessons on self-worth, finances, love, beauty and values. Jupiter entered into Taurus on May 16th. What have you been learning so far? What are you ready to review in more detail? Something may spark your interest as a result of the new moon activities.
Venus, ruler of Taurus, is in a square to Jupiter now. They will speak together for several days. The two benefics even in a square are trying to help you to feel better about something that is going on in your life. They are trying to show you what you need to change in order to find your joy again. Venus is also in a sextile to Mars in Libra, making one of the things you hope to heal a relationship. One you feel very passionate about. Mars here is stirring things up so when the South Node comes through later, you see what you need to see, and either walk away, or work to restore balance in your relationships. Mars and Venus are the only planets not retrograde, this is where you focus your attention to try to move something forward.
Chiron in Aries, also retrograde, is making an odd angle back to the new moon. This can bring up painful feelings, in unexpected ways. But the point of them being triggered now is so you can heal them. On the other side of Chiron is the North Node. This healing is part of your fated journey. When you heal whatever this is, or let the shame and embarrassment go, a new beginning will show up for you. A fated one.

Aries – your 6th house of work, health, service and pets is activated. This means all those things we mentioned about the sign of Virgo directly apply to your new moon manifestations. Are you wishing for a new job? With Uranus in your 2nd house of the money you make you might be surprised by the financial offer you are about to receive.
Taurus – in the 5th house it is all about new beginnings that involve your heart. Children, hobbies, romance, all things you feel a real passion for can be started now. You have both Uranus and Jupiter in your 1st house. You may be surprised yourself with how much current growth, especially financially, you have going on right now. But even more surprising is what you are about to do for romance.
Gemini – your 4th house rules over home, family and your mother. With a new moon here, you could be looking at a new place to live. This could be new information related to your family history. The 12th house is activated by Jupiter and Uranus, bringing up things that may involve large institutions, perhaps your employer is what is causing a sudden and unexpected move.
Cancer – in the 3rd house you may be deciding to sign up for some type of class. This house rules communication, your local community, also your extended family members. You are definitely ready to learn something new. It could be a friend who introduces you to this new opportunity in a surprising way with Uranus and Jupiter both in your 11th house of friends and networking groups.
Leo – Virgo is your 2nd house, ruling over the money you make, helping you wish for a new source of income potentially. This could also have you focused on ways to begin to believe in yourself again. Have you felt out of sorts lately? Uranus and Jupiter in your 10th house of career should be bringing a major opportunity that you will be extremely excited about where your career is concerned.
Virgo – this is your New Moon, so you are wishing to achieve a personal goal you have for yourself. The first house is about how your show yourself to others. This could be a beauty makeover, or just a fun shopping spree for new clothes. Jupiter and Uranus in your 9th house of higher education may mean you want to appear more knowledgeable somehow. Be recognized as an expert in your field. Who recognizes you might really surprise you.
Libra – new things that occur in the 12th house are not always easily recognized. But if you work for a large institution or want to, you just might get your wish now. This is the house of creativity, intuition, artistry, and the subconscious mind. If you want to know the truth about something, now is a good time to set intentions for just that. With Jupiter and Uranus in your 8th house there could be some financial gains that come in unexpectedly.
Scorpio – you could make some new friends with a new beginning in your 11th house of friends and networking groups. Online might be a good place to look, or network. Uranus and Jupiter in your 7th house means these new friends could turn out to be lifelong ones, or maybe even the one! There could be some surprises involving your committed relationships. Maybe it's a friend who expresses their feelings for you.
Sagittarius – Virgo is your 10th house, which means you could receive some recognition at work. You are being seen in some new way. This house rules your reputation, fame, also your father. With Jupiter and Uranus in your 6th house, which rules the work you do daily, there is likely a new growth opportunity where your job is concerned. Especially if you do work as a healer.
Capricorn – are you considering enrolling in some kind of MBA program? Maybe it’s a spiritual course of study that is calling to you. Perhaps a job overseas? Or just travel. All are possible with a new beginning in your 9th house of growth and expansion. Maybe this is being spurred on by a new lover, or a change in your child’s life? You do have Uranus and Jupiter in your 5th house of romance and fun. If you have your Sun, Moon or Rising sign at 21 degrees of Capricorn this offer is something you need to make an effort to make happen. This will create a grand earth trine, where the earth signs are all positively activated. But you have to act to see the benefit.
Aquarius – the 8th house means this new beginning could transform your life in a major way. This house rules over death and transformation. It is also about money you receive from other resources, like bonuses, inheritances, the lottery, or a partner. There might be family money coming your way unexpectedly. Jupiter and Uranus are in your 4th house that rules over home and family. Some unexpected changes have likely been going on in your home lately. Perhaps some money will allow you to move unexpectedly.
Pisces – your 7th house is activated by the New Moon. This is the house that rules your marriage partner, and serious relationships like business partners and very close friends. Your partner could be getting a new opportunity that impacts you and what you want for yourself. With Uranus and Jupiter in your 3rd house of transportation and local travel, maybe they will be surprising you with a trip. Or, maybe you will come across some information that leads you to meeting a new business partner.
