Aries is a Fire Sign, representing our passions, our drive, our inner fire. In the chart above it is represented by the horns of the Ram. Aries in general are strong willed, hard headed, maybe slightly hot-headed even. Its ruler is Mars. Aries the Greek God of War was said to be the son of Zeus and Hera.
Aries represents the first sign of the Zodiac, and also marks the beginning of the astrological year with the Spring Equinox. The first house represents the self. We are discovering who we are, or who we want to be in the first house. This is the Ascendant, the personality we show to the world.
Aries is a Cardinal sign. Each sign in the zodiac which begins a new season is considered a Cardinal sign. These signs are making a change, bringing in a fresh start, and they are very independent in nature. With the God of War representative of Aries, you can expect those born under this sign to be very competitive, physically strong, and capable of generating great energy, aggressive, short-tempered, impulsive, dominant, with a need to conquer.
A few famous Aries people you might know or recognize the above traits in; Lady Gaga and Russell Crowe. I would say a Gladiator definitely fits the role of Aries.
The body part ruled by Aries is the head. When you think of a Ram you imagine them butting heads against their foe. This makes them very tough. Mars the ruler of Aries is known for causing accidents. That’s because Aries is always quick to take off for the next battle, not necessarily good at looking where they are going, or slowing down long enough to get their footing.
Each New Moon you have an opportunity to create 10 New Moon Wishes according to Jan Spiller's book New Moon Astrology. She suggests you write out your wishes within 5 hours of the New Moon. As you write out these wishes you want to be sure to wish for what is best for your soul, not your ego. Which can be a little more challenging when you consider all Aries represents. If you write wishes from your ego's perspective you are most likely writing them from a place of lack or fear. There will be a bit of desperation attached to them and this can lead to a poor manifesting experience. You can choose to write less than 10, but do not write any more than that, as it will lessen the impact of your wishes.
So, what is an example of an ego wish vs a soul wish? I wish I finished first in every campaign at work versus I wish my leadership skills helped as many people as possible on my team finish is first place. Your ego needs to be the best, to beat out everyone else for its own personal satisfaction, but the soul wants to help others win. Ultimately you win when the team wins anyway. Play around with these a bit until you get the hang of it.
You have 10 and you can write more than one on the same topic, so do some experimenting. See which way of writing out your wishes works best for you. Try out different verbiages as well, I want, I wish, I am thankful for. Whatever 'feels' right to you is the best way to write out your wishes. How you connect emotionally to your wishes is as important to how you write them out. If you don't actually believe a wish can come true for you, it won't. So, take your time, feel into each wish as you write it down, then say it out loud. You can save your wishes or use the element of the sign to help you manifest with them. With fire you can hold a candle and speak your wishes aloud, or you can burn them safely in a fire. You could even write them out after completing a strenuous workout where you generate a lot of heat.

Tarot Card that represents Aries would be the Emperor. This card speaks of Authority. The same can be said of the King of Wands in the minor arcana. He is passionate, fast moving, authoritative, and willing to take a risk. You can use either of these cards to meditate with and bond with the Aries energy. You can light a candle and hold this card or you can lie down and place this card on your head, whichever speaks to you. If you need motivation to get a large task done, this is the perfect Zodiac sign energy to work with.
Love and Light and Happy Wishes!
