The conscious mind is the part of the mind you are aware of. This is the part you think with. The subconscious mind handles millions of details all at once as you go throughout your day. This is where you store all of your memories and the emotions stored with them. So, your conscious mind helps you take an action, make a decision. But it is the information stored in your subconscious mind that helps you carry out the action. Take for instance walking up a set of stairs. You see the stairs and know how to walk up them to get to your destination. Seems pretty simple. Now take this same activity of getting up the stairs from the subconscious mind’s perspective. First, we have to lift our feet to get on the step. This takes information being transmitted through out your body via cells and the nervous system, giving your foot the command it needs to lift. Then there is that one time where you slipped on the stairs, so your body reminds you to grab hold of the bannister or railing. Lastly you are reminded how your knee hurts whenever you climb stairs, so you opt for the escalator instead. That’s a lot going on underneath the surface just to take a step up. And it all happens without you consciously being aware.
Our minds are able to focus on about 5 or 6 things at a time in order to complete an action. As you might imagine from the simple example above if we had to think through all of those things just to take one step we wouldn’t get very far in our day. So instead we let our auto-pilot, our subconscious, mind do the work while we just focus on what we need to be aware of.
Now imagine your subconscious mind is your best friend. It takes care of you and all your needs. But what if you started being unkind to your best friend. You said bad things about it, talked down to it, maybe even ignored it when it was trying to save you from experiencing pain? The two of you might become disconnected and suddenly your best friend isn’t looking out for you and your life is in shambles. Hypnosis is a great way to fix your broken relationship between you and your best friend, your mind and your subconscious mind.
The sign of Pisces represents our subconscious mind. It is a water sign, ruled by the Planet Neptune. Its symbol is a Triton. Often associated with the ruler of the Sea. This is the 12th and last sign of the Zodiac. It rules things that are hidden, or things that keep us hidden, such as large institutions, hospitals and jails. From a spiritual perspective it is associated with self-sacrifice and convents.
Those born under the sign of Pisces are creative, artistic, psychic, empathetic, imaginative, and adaptive. As the ruler is Neptune they can have a dreamy and sometimes unrealistic attitude towards life. Delusion and self-medicating can cause them to drink or do drugs to excess. As a water sign they are ruled by emotions and can be very sensitive, this can cause some to suffer from severe often crippling anxiety. It is also this sensitivity that can cause Pisces to want to control everything around them for fear of being hurt. The answer is to connect to your spiritual side and trust in the Universe’s plan over your own. Let Go and Let God is a perfect mantra for this sign.
The sign is what we astrologers call a mutable sign which makes them very flexible, but sometimes too much so. They may have a hard time sticking with something until it is complete. This is a feminine sign, making it more passive or Yin. They are very attuned to the emotions of others, and since they are a receptive sign can become overwhelmed by others people’s emotions and take them on as their own.
Pisces rules the feet and blood circulation. Because of the high level of emotions this sign experiences health can be a concern. They need to learn to let their feelings go, and can become amazing artists as a result of channeling their emotions in a positive way. This could be through music, art, even acting. They also benefit from solitude and time for reflection. They do well with a yoga or meditation practice daily.
For Pisces to thrive they have to let go of control and head into the unknown. Take the deep blue sea for instance, they cannot possibly know what lies beneath the water’s depths, but when they open themselves up to exploring it, they uncover many hidden treasures. This sign is like water and needs to be in the flow in order to create. When they keep themselves too focused on the details in life they get caught up in anxiety and this pulls them out of the flow and up on the shore, where they do not thrive.
You can use the energy of Pisces to tap into your spiritual and creative side. You can use the solitude to release trapped emotions, and let things end naturally. With this being the last sign and house of the zodiac, this energy is for endings, culminations, and releasing. In order to get in the flow let’s practice doing that right now with this short hypnosis track. You should listen without distraction, in a quiet place, with your phone on silent. This helps to reduce the distractions from the conscious mind and allows you to more easily connect to the subconscious mind. Access the session here.
